Man's Brilliance Made It Possible
Every human being has needs - emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical and financial. One can never satiate all these needs. There have been many who have had all the first four needs mentioned - but they lack the last need.
There have been hundreds of thousands who almost had everything they need and yet something is still lacking. The sense of belonging is so difficult to achieve that people retreat to their own worlds in order to suppress the feeling of lack.
The need and greed of every human being is very apparent in the way perceive things and handle the situation they are in. Before money was invented, the primitive peoples had been content with their lives - game meat for dinner, scanty clothes, and crude huts - indeed a primeval way of living.
The desire to have more comfort, better living conditions and delectable clothes haunted every individual's peace that they ventured to greener pastures. In their journey, they have seen more than what they have laid eyes on on their primordiality.
Weapons roughly made were traded for bows and arrows made of sterner materials. The articles of clothing that were made of animal skins were changed into layers and layers of velvet and silk as Turkish caravans roam the earth as nomads.
Empires were built. Castles were made. Armies were readied. Thus, in a day and age such as this, the mere bartering of goods is unthinkable. The value of the goods had increased that it no longer seemed appropriate to exchange two hundred flasks of beer with two hundred blocks of granite. Hence, people thought it would be better to create a currency that would be used by all.
Kingdoms were not satisfied to follow only currency. Each made its own. And as each kingdom made its own currency, the harder it became to use that money in negotiating and trading with other cities, towns, and countries. One problem led to another. Man's creative thinking never does seem to end. As a solution to this currency barrier, governments have agreed that the currencies of the world should be used in all countries. Thus created the Foreign Exchange System.
Not all countries are blessed with the same wealth in terms of resources as others are. Affluent Holland doesn't have much natural resources; it relies on import. The Philippines are richly endowed in forest and fauna as well as mineral reserves as gold, and copper, but still it needs more; it exports and at the same time imports. The point here is, in order for countries with different cultures, traditions and currencies to communicate and trade effectively with the rest of the world, there is a need to create the foreign exchange system. Through this, it would be easier and fairer for goods to be exchanged and thus the needs of each country supplemented.
Tourists would no longer fear traveling because all they need to do is have their currency exchanged to that of their destination. People can work in foreign countries as well without fear of not being able to use the money they've earned in their own country. The Foreign Exchange System has made all that possible.
Every human being has needs in all forms. But the brilliance of man's mind would always seek ways to sate every need. Man's brilliance would never fade. Nations would be brought closer than before. It will only be all in its time.
